About Us
We are a small but experienced event team who are on hand to co-ordinate all events at the Canonteign Falls Estate. Home to one of England’s highest waterfalls Canonteign Falls is a magnificent example of a Victorian folly set in 90 acres of ancient woodland and estate land on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park in Devon. The waterfalls themselves descend for over 70m through ferns and woods. At the base of the falls the woodland gives way to meadows and lakes making this one of the most breath-taking venues in Devon with plenty of space for weddings, celebrations and business events.
It is ideally located just off the A38 which provides a fast route to both Exeter and Plymouth. With a lakeside Pagoda, Event Barn, toilets and free parking the site is well set up to service any bespoke event and provides an impressive back drop to suit any occasion.

The estate has a rich and fascinating history, the mining boom in the 1800s created prosperity and when it ceased in 1880 the third Lady Exmouth instructed that the waterfall should be diverted by 10m via a manmade leat course which redirected the water to cascade over the nearby massive rock formations. This spectacular waterfall, the highest sheer drop in England at some 70 metres, is the most wonderful backdrop to the ancient woodland walks leading through the remains of the Secret Garden, on through the Victorian Fern Garden, to the splendour of the views across Devon from the summit, known as Buzzard’s View. It is now open 7 days a week to the public as well as a popular event venue.
